3 Ways to Invest in Yourself

3 Ways to Invest in Yourself

Working on myself is my favorite full time job. We can’t expect anyone to invest in what we clearly show we are not invested in. Your time, money, energy are all forms of currency. You get to choose from which accounts you make deposits and withdrawals. The ability to invest in yourself leads to personal growth and development as well as satisfaction in all areas of your life. Is it time for you to take inventory on your investments.

  1. Create a budget for yourself. Before spending, before you even actually have the currency. What do I mean? Before you have abundance allocate it to a specific place in your life like relationships. Think to yourself “I am using my time to invest in passions and hobbies that excite me” even if you aren’t doing that thing yet. Claim what you want to experience and how you will do it.

  2. Pay yourself first. You didn’t know I was gonna take you to church today did you? You created your budget on purpose. It should include your cut coming off the top. When you get a deposit in your energy account allocate a portion to your self care, personal development plan, and whatever else leads to a deeper level of understanding yourself and others. Retained earnings, which is the amount you keep for yourself, help you to keep things going in good and bad times.

  3. Commit even when it’s hard. You created clarity for yourself with your budget. Paid yourself first which put you in a better position to give and spend time and energy on others but now you must commit to being consistent. I can assure you it will get hard. I can also assure you that your practice of discipline and consistency will equip you to manage the hard times. When I say commit I don’t mean a week or two. I mean 6-9 months at minimum. 12-24 months at a moderate level and 36-48 months to be ninja level committed to seeing results. Everything starts with today, right now. What can you tweak to invest in yourself a little more. Leave a comment below
