You Need Therapy... Here's Why.

You go to the Doctor for annual check-ups. You get your vision checked annually. You go to the Dentist every 6 months to get your teeth cleaned. Do you see where I'm going with this? You're human and typically being human requires some upkeep.

Due to the stigma of mental health, most people only seek out therapy as a last resort. Regular upkeep and preventative care for mental health and emotional well-being is not a regular practice. Life has a way of wearing us down, whether it's work, school, or relationships, we can not avoid the toll everyday life takes on us. When we start treating mental health like we do medical health we will see a change in the way we relate to one another and handle life's stresses.

I always give my friends and family my disclaimer. I am a Therapist, so I am always going to suggest that you see one because I believe it can be helpful. If you're feeling run down because of work, stressed about a life transition like marriage/parenthood, or consistent conflict with your partner therapy can be the thing that helps you get through it. it is much easier to treat a cut as opposed to gang green. Emotional wounds have a way of festering and spreading to infect other areas of life. Do something before things get too far gone.

I hope my blogs are a helpful source of information. That they might help you to find comfort and solace in knowing that you’re not alone. That you matter and someone’s thinking about you. Submit blog topics and questions you'd like me to address here and subscribe below to stay updated. Until next time my friend.
